Possibly the most well-known viewpoint of our tea plantations, the Lipton’s Seat is said to be the exact spot where the famed planter, Sir Thomas Lipton apparently used to sit and appreciate his vast tea plantations. The Scottish businessman supposedly started his endeavors in Sri Lanka during the period of British colonization, marking the beginning of tea exports from the island. Considered one of Sri Lanka’s impressive viewpoints, the attraction is located off Haputale which is just 60 mins from Dutch House Bandarawela. From this spot, you can admire the vast tea estates and lush green hills of seven different provinces. One can also enjoy a hike through the winding pathways of the lush estates and observe tea pluckers at work.
